Story of Us : Boston Engagement Photos

Isn’t it funny how your concept of “home” changes over time? As kids, most of us associate the word “home” with the brick-and-mortar in which we grew. As we matured up a bit, the association likely changed from an actual structure to a person. Our childhood homes no longer held that much value by early adulthood as home is simply wherever mom is.

Then, our lives changed in an instant when we found The One. Over time, as our trust and comfort level grew, the more we associate him or her as our forever “home”.

This was our concept for Supria and Jay’s engagement session in Boston. Neither is from Boston – in fact, Jay came all the way from Down Under (yes, he still retains that wonderful Aussie accent!) – but this city is where they currently live and where their story unfolds.

When we travel to a new city for an engagement session, we typically try to highlight the actual city in all its glory – the glitz and glam of Las Vegas, the weirdness of Austin, the elegance of San Francisco, the natural beauty of Maui.

Yet, for this special session, Boston melts into the background as we focus our lenses on the story of Jay and Supria. They took us around to the places they frequent as a couple – the benches alongside Charles River, the streets of Beacon Hill, her apartment rooftop overlooking Fenway Park.
