Each and every wedding holds a special place in our hearts, but Candice and Ryle’s took a bigger space because theirs fall on our anniversary date of October 13th. And as fate would have it, we also share a favorite song: “Lucky” by Jason Mraz and Colbie Caillat (beautifully sung by Candice’s brother during their ceremony).
Speaking of “Lucky”, these two lovebirds found each other during their teenage years. It’s no secret that we’re a wee bit envious of those who meet their soul mates so early in life. Imagine growing up with one another and experiencing so many seasons of life together…and then actually get to continue on and even grow old together! What a blessing.
But after 10+ years of dating, you can bet that this day is highly anticipated and is celebrated in a big way. Their venue, The Foxhall Resort, is the newest and biggest resort community ever built in Atlanta history. Their wedding ceremony was done on the hilltop, overlooking 1,100 acres of lush green scenery and lakes. Somehow this place reminded us of Middle-Earth (of the Lord of the Rings), which certainly makes shooting there an unforgettable experience :)
By the way, Candice’s family owns a catering business and a special events dress shop, so their professional and heartfelt touches were apparent all throughout the event. Her dad made a beautiful artwork using stacks of pineapples despite an injury that he experienced just a couple of months before. Her little brother created the beautiful rose petal runners for the ceremony (best we’ve ever seen!). They had awesome food and multiple dessert stations (yes, we tried them ALL and are still craving/dreaming about their awesome coffee milkshakes). Oh, and her wedding dress was custom-made by Mr. Tony Bowls himself! Not just that, but she even had 2nd and 3rd dresses (all extremely fabulous) to change into that day. How many brides can say that for themselves?
Not many, we would think :) But Candice’s family went above and beyond in making this an absolute dream wedding for her and Ryle. So many moments (both sweet AND silly) were shared that day. Some of our faves include: the couple of minutes shared between Candice and her dad before he walked her down the aisle, Ryle and his groomsmen droppin’ their pants for the camera, their brothers (and moms!) tearin’ it up on the dance floor and Ryle’s brother/best man’s speech (not a dry eye in the house!) It was a beautiful day in every sense of the word.
