sweet expectations

Wherever you are, whenever it’s right
You’ll come out of nowhere and into my life

And I know that we can be so amazing
And, baby, your love is gonna change me
And now I can see every possibility…

– “Haven’t Met You Yet” – Michael Bublé

I remember the summer of 2008 when my brother Wilson and his then-fiance Yanti took me on a graduation trip down to Miami, FL. We spent a week just lounging by the beach and tried out Miami’s signature dishes like conch and Cuban food. There was nowhere else we’d rather be.

Fast forward to the summer of 2011. Just three years after the beautiful trip and here they are now: happily married and expecting their first child. I won’t even pretend to know how it feels to be pregnant and to prepare for the arrival of a very special human being. All I know is that “pregnancy glow” really DOES exist (Yanti was practically beaming! As you can see on the below pics…) and I can literally SEE the joy and excitement in my brother’s eyes :)

People are not kidding when they say that “time flies”. Because it sure does fly like nobody’s business… which is why we thank God for the chance of preserving special life’s moments such as this one. Her glow. His excitement. That adorable baby bump. The waiting period. The sweet expectations of what to come. I mean, even we get so overwhelmed with joy by watching them from the sidelines!
