Woof there! My name is Boss Padfoot Hale. My wonderful owners, or as I like to call persons, have an interesting story of why they gave me that name. Jacob has another black lab growing up named Champ, after Champ Bailey, an all American football player who played for the UGA. And apparently Champ (in real life) has a brother named Boss, who also played football at the same college. As for my middle name, Padfoot, it is simply because of Margaret’s obsession with Harry Potter.
Margaret and Jacob took me in when I was only 6 weeks old, and that was about 6 months ago. I could barely remember that day but they told me that of all the pups in the litter, I was the only one who sat on Jacob’s feet, as if I chose them as my persons. What seemed like a random occurrence, turned out to be the best decision I’ve ever made.
They took very good care of me and taught me many tricks: sit, stay, come, lay, shake, and high five. Lately they have been trying to teach me to “freeze” and I’m still learning. Not as easy as it seems! So please bear with me guys :) Oh, and I love going to the park and playing with nature. Margaret, especially, loves to take me on runs few days in a week. But this time around, we went to the park for something completely different.
My happy persons are getting married next year and so the human tradition is to take photos to announce their engagement. For their engagement photos, they were very sweet to include me. Few minutes into the session, not only did I enjoy being in front of the camera (which came as a surprise), but I also got to witness how amazingly in love Margaret and Jacob are. The chemistry between them is undeniable and I could see in their eyes that their home is in each other’s arms (and laughter!).
I honestly could not think of any 2 people more suited for each other than my persons. I am wagging-my-tail-off excited for you two as you walk down the aisle, and later on as you start a family and grow old. Thank you for raising me and, in return, I promise to be that loyal family dog everyone will be talking about :)
It is my genuine pleasure and privilege to introduce to you my persons, Margaret and Jacob. Boss here, woof out!
