An Ode to Hotlanta : Beltline Atlanta Engagement Photography

We told a fun “ode to Las Vegas” this Summer through these glamorous series of photographs and feel it’s time to also do one for our lovely hometown of Atlanta.

If the best way to describe the beauty of Vegas is “glamorous”, then what is the word for Atlanta? Well, we couldn’t come up with just one. Atlanta, especially at its current state, is so multi-dimensional it would be impossible to contain all its story, colors, and character (and flaws) all in just one word.

This was not always the case. We remember coming here 15 years ago and felt that this city was very much one-dimensional. Maybe two, at best. You have Waffle House, the Coca-Cola Museum, CNN Tour, Stone Mountain…and, well, that’s pretty much it (though always with a side of Southern Hospitality)!

But you could say the city has grown up since then with the addition of new jogging-track-slash-outdoor-art-museum the Beltline Atlanta to hip community hubs like the Ponce City Market to high-end shopping areas like The Shops at Buckhead. Even the restaurant scene has been reinvigorated big time with the popping of Top Chef-owned establishments to casual Neapolitan Pizza place that people say tastes better than the original in Italy to new dessert concepts like this Thai Rolled Ice Cream made from scratch in front of you.

Suddenly, there is something for everyone. The Health Nuts and the Foodies. The artsy Instagram Couple (you know at least one), the Hipsters, and the “Nerd-Chic”. By the way, this last category we learned from Anita and Weston – the gorgeous couple featured on this special Atlanta edition. They met in Atlanta and we had the honor of shooting their engagement session in the restaurant where they had their first date (Empire State South), their jogging track (Atlanta Beltline) and also a classic Atlanta Fall Carnival that they have always wanted to visit together.

So here it is… Our photographers version of love letter for Anita and Weston and this city that has finally earned its (one-word) nickname “Hotlanta”.
