Dear our forefathers (or whoever started the 1-day wedding tradition), we have one very important question to ask you: Why?
After experiencing Nehal and Dhruv’s wedding, we are entirely convinced that all weddings should be multiple days. Seriously, why limit all the fun, festivities, and food (ahh, the food!) to just one day? It’s really not that easy to gather all our loved ones in one place (in Nehal and Dhruv’s case, childhood friends, coworkers, and family from all around the world), let alone have the chance to dance with them all at once and have the most majestic time! So might as well enjoy them a little longer, right?
We showed you the first two events of their wedding here, and couldn’t be more excited to finally share the wedding ceremony and reception in this edition. The day started with an intimate first-look, giving Dhruv the special chance of seeing his beautiful bride in her full bridal regalia. Nehal looked every bit a princess in her red sari – elegantly adorned with very intricate gold details… So beautiful that Dhruv was literally overcome with emotion :)
Then, the party started (yes, before we even got to the ceremony!) with the Baraat – a special procession where the groom sits on top of a decorated horse and all the “Baraatis” (in this case, his family members and groomsmen) danced and sang to the rhythm of the dhol (double-headed drum). With all the dancing out of their system (for the time being, at least), we entered into the most important event: the ceremony. We literally gasped when we saw the ceremony decoration: a “runway” stage lined with romantic candles…leading to a canopy of gorgeousness (there really is no other way to describe it!) We’ve never seen anything like it in real life and had to pinch ourselves several times to double-check that we really are photographing this amazing wedding (we love you, Nehal and Dhruv!)
The multi-day event ended with everyone dancing the night away. Even though there were at least a couple hundred guests, Nehal and Dhruv’s wedding felt super intimate somehow (shout out to wedding planner extraordinaire Nadira Merali of Envi Events)! As you all can tell, we enjoyed every minute of covering this wedding. Lastly, we just want to say that with all the beauty and brain that Nehal possesses (she’s a doctor, after all), we so adore her silly side (check out “DJ” Nehal Patel-Bhandari killin’ it on the last photo!)
