Anyone else obsessed with The Voice? It’s impressive how the amount of talents never seems to run out season after season. This time, we are rooting all the way for Amy Vaschal and her smooth, “old Hollywood” crooner-type voice.

“A Sunday Kind of Love” was one of the tunes Amy sang during the competition…and it quickly became the most repeated song in our household. The lyrics and Amy’s airy tone have us daydreaming about spending a lazy, “breakfast-in-bed-then-lay-around-in-pajamas-all-day” type of Sunday with each other. A day filled with snuggles – preferably by the fireplace – while watching our favorite tv shows and do absolutely NOTHING together.

What’s so special about the lyrics, though, is the use of “Sunday” to describe a specific kind of love. For most people, Sunday equates to peace, comfort, home, and freedom from stress/to-do lists/make up. In a word, Sunday = Resting. Sure, we can (mostly) deal with all kinds of people Monday – Friday. Maybe even put on your best shirt/dress to dance all night with cute strangers on a Saturday night.

But on Sunday… on Sunday you spend time only with the one who makes your heart smile. The one you can snuggle with all day long without having to say a word. The one whose mere presence recharges your energy. So comfortable. No pretense. No need to impress.

For those who are still searching, we encourage you to not settle for less than your very own Sunday kind of love. We have found it in each other. Sonia and Blesson have as well.
