When it comes down to it, weddings can truly be summed up in three simple words: Eat. Pray. Love.
Nehal and Dhruv’s wedding, however, took those words to a whole another level. Being that theirs was our very first Indian wedding, we did not really know what to expect. Of course, we’ve heard about the abundance of deliciousness that one typically gets to eat in an Indian wedding. But to experience it ourselves? Oh, it was truly a (spicy) delight and a remarkable adventure!
India is the birthplace of several world’s major religions, including Hinduism and Buddhism, so it was no surprise that prayer was the epicenter of the wedding celebration itself. During the Vidhi, Nehal’s family came and prayed together the day before the wedding to ward off evil spirits from the wedding day and to protect the couple in their married life together. One of the fun rituals involved applying yellow turmeric paste on Nehal, which also serves as skin enhancer to make the bride glow even more on her special day (and GLOW she did!)
Another thing we noticed is the family and friends’ involvement all throughout the wedding festivities, which lasted 3 days. Everyone was very helpful (not to mention, super friendly even to us vendors – so much so that we felt like we were part of their family) and heavily involved to make sure the day goes smoothly. You can definitely feel the love surrounding Nehal and Dhruv.
While it is impossible to contain all of the photos featuring this gorgeous couple in one blog post, we would like to share some of our favorite images from their Mehndi, Vidhi, and Sangeet ceremonies today. Thank you Nehal and Dhruv for trusting us and we hope you love the photos as much as we do!
